Logging Into Your Control Panel for the First Time

Updated 29 June 20261 views3 min read

This article walks you through reaching your control panel (Enhance) for the first time, signing in, and finding your way around the main areas so you feel confident managing your website.

Your control panel is where you manage everything to do with the website itself — email, files, databases, WordPress, SSL, and backups. You get to it from your account, so there's no separate website to remember.

Step 1 — Log in to your account

  1. Go to the customer portal and sign in to your account using the details from your welcome email.
  2. If this is your first time, you may be prompted to set or confirm your password.

Step 2 — Open your control panel

  1. From within your account, find your hosting service or website.
  2. Select the option to open your control panel (Enhance). It will open ready to use — in most cases you won't need to type a separate username and password, as your account signs you in for you.

If you're ever asked for separate control panel login details, check your welcome email, or open a support ticket and we'll help you sort it out.

Step 3 — Find your websites

Once your control panel opens, look to the left sidebar. This is your main menu.

  1. Find the Websites section in the sidebar.
  2. You'll see your website (or websites) listed here.
  3. Click the website you want to work on to open its dashboard.

The dashboard gives you an overview of that one website and is the launch point for everything else.

Step 4 — Get to know the tabs

With a website open, you'll see a row of tabs across the top. These group the most common tools together. Look for tabs such as:

  • Domains — the web addresses pointing to this website.
  • Emails — create and manage email accounts for your domain.
  • Databases — manage the databases your website uses.

Click any tab to open that area. You can move between them freely without losing your place.

Step 5 — Find more tools under Advanced

Not everything lives on the main tabs. For extra tools, look for an Advanced menu.

  1. Open the Advanced menu for this website.
  2. Here you'll find tools such as Backups, where you can create a backup or restore an earlier copy of your site.

If you're hunting for a tool and can't see it on the main tabs, the Advanced menu is the next place to check.

A quick tip

Take a couple of minutes to click around while nothing is at stake. Opening tabs and menus won't change anything on your live website — you have to actively save or run something for that — so it's a safe way to get comfortable.
